Windows Vista

According to Veerle Pieters (by way of Paul Thurrott’s WinInfo), Microsoft is soon to announce that there will be 7 (count ‘em—7!) different versions of Windows Vista available.

I have a background in sales. One of the first things I learned was that a confused mind often says, “No.” If you want someone to buy something, give them a simple choice to make (”Would you like that in red, or blue?”). But 7 choices?

  1. Windows Vista Starter Edition
  2. Windows Vista Home Basic Edition
  3. Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
  4. Windows Vista Professional Edition
  5. Windows Vista Small Business Edition
  6. Windows Vista Enterprise Edition
  7. Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

How do you know which version is right for you? Answer: #8.
