I had a transparent dock under Panther for so long that seeing the default dock again when I installed Tiger was something of a shock. The default dock has always felt bulky and confining to me, but TransparentDock lets your dock icons breathe. TransparentDock lets you customize the appearance of your dock, and it isn’t limited to only adjusting transparency.
Transparency is adjustable from fully transparent to fully opaque. You can adjust the border independently from the background and select a color for the background, border, and application triangle. TransparentDock also lets you fiddle with an assortment of dock settings. For example, you can show icons for background applications, remove the Finder icon, or add a Quit menu item to the Finder dock menu. You can save your settings to a custom theme and switch between themes using the TransparentDock Themes palette.
TransparentDock gives you the option of backing up your original dock settings so it’s easy to revert to the default dock at any time. But why would you want to?
Bottom Line: TransparentDock gives you complete control over your dock.
