Tiger Tip: Command-Control-D for Dictionary Tiger Tips
May 13

Pre-Tiger, if you wanted to Get Info on multiple items in the Finder, all you had to do was select them and press Command-I. But Tiger brings up multiple Get Info windows if you try that now.

If you want to get info on multiple items in Tiger, select the items and press Command-Option-I. A Multiple Item Info window pops up. Now you can see the size for the combined items, and batch assign color labels or change permissions.

Note that you can also access the Inspect by Control-clicking on an item and then pressing the Option key. The contextual menu will change from Get Info to Show Inspector. The Open With command also changes to Always Open With, another handy shortcut.
