MyMind

MyMind is a simple outlining and mind mapping tool, similar to NovaMind’s Pyramid, which I reviewed last year (I reviewed MyMind for Macworld at about the same time). This new version, which according to the ReadMe may be the last free version before MyMind goes commercial, adds a host of new features and refinements.

Using MyMind is easy: just create an outline, then click Create Map on the document Toolbar. You can edit the map, adding new items or rearranging existing items by simple drag and drop.

This new version includes a new map arrangement called “Flemming-Map,” named after a friend of the developer who requested it, which places the first node in the upper right and arranges the remaining items clockwise. You can now add notes to items and labels to connecting lines. MyMind also includes Address Book and iPhoto support. Just open the Addressbook Browser and iPhoto Browser and you can drag a contact or image directly into a map.

Bottom Line: MyMind is a flexible, feature rich outlining and mind mapping tool. Get this free version before it goes commercial.
