The most handy thing ever. Instant play. It’s not ubiquitous search widget, it doesn’t kick you out of dashboard, it just plays the song you want and it’s almost never wrong. Interested?

There are many things that you just can’t do with other iTunes controllers. There are many ways to search, and even more commands that will give you the control you need from iTunes quickly. Right from Dashboard.

This is yet another implementation of the classical Rubik’s Cube. Now as a dashboard widget in full 3D. You should be able to figure out how it works. Twist or rotate by pointing and dragging in “natural” directions. Press ’s’ to scramble and ‘r’ to restore. Drag the cube with the circle in the upper left corner.

Bar Code Clock - Barcode clock widget

I wrapped the Bar Code Clock by Scott Blake in OS X Dashboard widget skin.

Download and keep it in your Dashboard if you like it, but it’s more a proof of concept than something I would use daily. 6 to 8 %CPU (at 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4) is an overkill for just a silly clock.

The clock uses 12-hour system. Licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

Evaluate - Widget uses Javascript eval function to process text

Evaluate is a Dashboard widget that uses the Javascript ‘eval’ function to process text entered into an input line. The results are output to a buffer so that you can view/copy results from previous calculations. Since the widget uses the eval function to process input you can use the widget to evaluate any valid javascript and even store variables.

Dashboard in Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” is a very nifty way to get a quick glance at a ton of information without the hassle of opening a lot of applications. It’s an easy mouse click or keystroke away when you’re in front of your Mac and need to take a peek. But what about when you turn your attention to something else or walk away for a few? Wouldn’t it be neat if Dashboard popped up by itself after a certain amount of system idle time? Well, it’s pretty neat indeed with Dasher, a preference pane that gets your Dash’ on automatically.

Drilx O Matic - Techno groove widget

This is based on the once-a-day composition experiment in techno�d grooves recorded in 2000 and 2001. This was shorter than some other Z-o-Matic experiments in groove, but still includes dozens of techno�d songs that will have you and your friends lounging around the computer, hopefully with a little twist.

You just need to reload the widget to get a random song (Apple-r keys on Dashboard) that will make your booty move. Depending on your Internet connection speed, the sound will play once the audio stream is OK.
