iPod tracks -> Desktop – Easy retrieval of iPod tracks from iTunes

iPod tracks -> Desktop is a set of scripts that allow an easy retrieve of iPod tracks directly from iTunes.

The script “iPod tracks -> Desktop” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will copy the selected tracks in iTunes (not Playlists) on you Desktop, easily.
If a file with the same name already exists in the destination then the user will be prompted.
The way I found to get tracks copied is my small hack, due to this the script has been saved run-only. Sorry.

The script “iPod tracks -> Choose…” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will perform the same action than the previous, but will let you choose in which
folder you want to copy the tracks selected in iTunes.

The script “iPod tracks -> encode” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will convert the iPod selected track(s) according to the current iTunes
conversion preferences, adding them to iTunes main library.
In addition, this script is the only that can retrieve WAV files: you can select such tracks
on the iPod, then convert them to a more convenient format :)

The script “iPod tracks -> iTunes Library” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will add the iPod selected track(s) in iTunes main library, and to a library
named according to iPod’s name. If iTunes preferences are set to copy files as they are added
to the library, then files will be phisically copied in iTunes Music folder.

The script “iPod tracks (Prefs)” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will set up some preferences for the scripts listed above.

The script “Whole iPod Library -> Desktop” is installed in iTunes script menu.
This script will copy the entire iPod library to the desktop, regardless of its
internal organization in subfolders. The copy could take a long time, in any case the user
can stop it with the usual Command-. keystroke.

TriTag – Generate MP3 filenames

TriTag helps you to get a clear MP3 collection by either creating a new filename out of the ID3Tag or filling the metatags using the information found in the filename using a user defined pattern – easy due to a pattern builder.
The first mode also allows to create a unique directory structure (artist/album/) similar to the one generated by iTunes “Consolidate library”.
Search the FreeDB database if neither the filename nor the tag contains correct information.

Copy Playlist to Card – Tool for copying iTunes playlist to Flash memory card

Copy Playlist to Card copies the tracks of the selected playlist in iTunes and an .m3u file for it to a flash memory card or music player that is mounted on the desktop. The script will offer to trim to fit and/or erase the Audio folder if there is not enough room on the card. The script was specifically designed for use with Aeroplayer on PalmOS, but should support any player or memory card that is mountable as a disk on the desktop – note that slight modification of the script may be necessary for use with other players, as outlined in the included read me file. Copy Playlist to Card also numbers the copied tracks to preserve the playlist order alphabetically for players that don’t support m3u playlist files, and bumps the played count and date which is useful for smart playlists. Most features are optional – see the read me for info on how to set options
