What’s New:
Version 01/03 via MacWorld San Francisco, 2003, saw the release of new PowerBooks (17" & 12"), but several announcements had been made during the last several months such as the 20GB iPod (and Windows versions of all three sizes), Widescreen iMac. Perhaps most interesting, however, was the release of the Burton Amp, an iPod "accessory" in the form of a snowboarding jacket with integrated iPod controls on the sleeve.

CP290 Director X supports the standard CP290 features including:

• Turning on and off modules immediately, including turning
  them on dimmed;
• Defining “turn on” and “turn off” events
  to be stored in the CP290 and executed by the CP290 even if the
  Macintosh is shut down. Such events include:
  • Turning a module on or off once at the specified time today;
  • Turning a module on or off once at the specified time tomorrow;
  • Turning a module on or off every week at the specified time
    and day(s) of the week;
  • Turning a module on or off every week within an hour of the
    specified time and day(s) of the week; (security mode);
• Displaying the events currently stored in the CP290;
• Setting the base house code of the CP290, which is the house
  code it uses when its 8 on/off buttons are pressed;
• Setting the clock in the CP290 to the clock in the Macintosh;
• Displaying the clock in the CP290, and
• Performing a self test function.

In addition to the above, the CP290 Director X supports the
following additional features:

• The ability to specify that an event is to occur at sunrise
  or sunset (plus or minus a specified time interval);
• The ability to specify a specific date on which an event
  is to occur, and optionally the interval in days thereafter that
  the event should be repeated;
• The ability to specify that the event should occur only on
  even days or on odd days.

X10 systems usually work reasonably reliably, turning on or
off the selected module when the CP290 commands it. However, occasionally
noise or interference in your wiring can cut reliability whereby
a module is not turned on or off at the requested time. The best
solution to this problem, if acute, is to install noise filters,
signal bridges, or amplifiers. However, you may find that CP290
Director X solves the problem for you. CP290 Director X allows
you to optionally specify that each “on” event should
be sent more than once to the module, and/or that each “off”
event should be sent more than once. Thus, if the first command
to turn off doesn’t work, the second or third one might. If you
specify that an event should be sent more than once, it will be
sent the specified number of times (two to four) at one minute
intervals.

CP290 Director X has the same basic functionality as CP290
Director (a MacOS 9/Classic program), but has been rewritten for
Mac OS X. However, it is backwards-compatible with CP290 Director
in that it reads and processes CP290 Director files.

Changes

• Files and folders on your desktop can now be dragged and dropped onto the folder tree of the Publish window for publishing. This makes the Publish feature of JAlbum more general so it can be used to maintain not only albums, but your web site too.
• In line with the above, the Publish window can now be set to “advanced mode” where not just folders and albums, but also files can be managed. This mode also allows files to be uploaded to the root of MyAlbum accounts, enabling users to customize their welcome pages.

Bug fixes

• The “Include photographic data in generated images” setting (previously called “Keep photographic data”) could cause color distortions with some images. Images also grew more in size than neccesary with this setting
• JAlbum wouldn’t show an error if one tried to open a project that couldn’t be found
• Renaming a whole album by renaming the root folder (top left of JAlbum window) would cause all kinds of trouble (images and project not being found). JAlbum now takes care of updating references to a renamed album.

I buy 10 different products and all of them have rebates. Each of the rebate is sent to different address and take different time to receive the rebates, some are 6 weeks, some 8 and so on. So there is no easy way to track of them or when you are suppose to call up the rebate center if you do not receive the rebate by then.

This app will allow you to enter all the relevant rebate information, the date mailed etc. This will then arrange the rebates according to Overdue, Pending and completed rebates. You start up the app and it will tell you which one is overdue and so on. It has a feature to export the expected dates of when you are supposed to receive the rebate into iCal.
