A Cook’s Books is an elegant and powerful recipe manager and nutritional reference tool. The elegant interface makes adding recipes, editing existing recipes, and scaling recipes by amount or by serving simple and intuitive. Features include complete nutritional breakdown of individual recipes, importing recipes from MasterCooks, Meal Master, Cookware Deluxe and other recipe program formats, recipe printing, weekly planning, shopping list generation, and a reference section that includes the USDA SR16 Nutrition database.
What’s New:
Version 1.2:
- A Cook’s Books now looks at up to 10 of the USDA volume to weight pairs when attempting to convert an ingredient measurement to a weight. (Nutrition calculations are based on food weight.) This greatly enhances A Cook’s Books ability to calculate a recipe’s nutrition.
- A Cook’s Books now understands all metric prefixes generally used in cooking: milli, deci, centi, deca, hecto, and kilo. Since volumes greater than 10 liters are unlikely, hectoliters and kiloliters are not supported.
- Modified the MasterCook import process to strip the garbage characters that have been creeping into MC XML based exports.
- Fixed a problem in the Text Import process that could prevent the process from running. The fix also improves the accuracy of finding the various parts of the recipe.
- Modified the MealMaster import to handle Shop’n Cook exports.
